Saint Rose

  • FormatWAV

I wrote this song in remembrance of my grandmother Alice Miller. She was a very loving and caring person. She had a rose bush in the back of her house. Hence the title "Saint Rose".

I think about her every day. I miss her very much.

I feel far away

As my memories start to fade

Sometimes I feel alone

Dragged down by the stone

There's a place I used to go

Back alley had a home

She gave comfort I've not since known

We miss you Saint Rose

I never dreamed I'd need you as much as I do

Search the world over looking for someone like you, like you

We miss you Saint Rose

Now she feels the same

But she hides her pain

Through laughter not tears

Strong through the years

She would hold us in love

There was always this love

Through every struggle that would come

Her faith shown like the Sun

I never dreamed I'd need you as much as I do

Search the world over looking for someone like you, like you

We miss you Saint Rose

Guitar Solo

I feel far away

As my memories start to fade

Sometimes I feel alone

Dragged down by the stone.....

I never dreamed I'd need you as much as I do

Search the world over looking for someone like you, like you

We miss you Saint Rose

Really dig your sound on this. A lot going on in it. Has a little Floyd feel to me, but with your touch on it. Very nice

Thanks! I took the left rhythm guitar out for most of the song and let the Mellotron occupy that space.

It added more space for the vocals too. I used a bunch of new plugins on this one when it came time to mix. I'm still learning how they all work. hahaha
