Taste Of Heaven

I came up with the lyrical and musical concept of this song when I was in Los Angeles this past August for my recording session at Sunset Sound.

It's about the light and dark sides of life. Happy and sad.....

The homeless issue in LA is pretty crazy. As it is in a lot of cities. There are so many people with addictions and mental health issues living on the streets.

It is very sad to see.

The day before my session, my wife and I were waiting for our coffees when I noticed this girl walking across the street. I could only see her from the waist up. She was talking. I thought she was on her phone.

Attractive girl. She seemed fine.

When we left the coffee shop and I walked outside, I could see she was dragging a sleeping bag. She was talking to herself.

My mind began to wander. I started wondering what could've happened to this poor girl. I have a daughter. I could never fathom this happening to her.

I also thought about myself. Could something like this happen to me? How fine is the line between sober and addict? Mentally stable and unstable?

So I tried to put some of the light and the dark in this song. Happy and sad. I think the line between these things is very thin.

The song may sound sad but it really is more about being aware that a lot of people are struggling so we should be thankful for what we have.

So we've got to enjoy every day and try to be a better person every day. Help others when we can.

Love our kids, our spouses and our family.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hello it's me again

I'm lost out here without a friend

I could use some help, for my troubled self

Can you even see me

My addiction took all my dreams

It's a terrible place to be

Only way to cheer me up, is with a full cup of insanity

I used to play with my son and daughter in the

shining sun of eden

Give them everything they wanted

it was mostly love they needed

But times have changed and suddenly I'm

all alone without them

I'm spiraling down, I need you to pull me up

He's coming down, gonna take your soul

cause you're gonna pay up for a

Taste of Heaven

Well goodbye to this east coast scene

LA is the place for me

The Sunset fills me up

with another cup of sobriety

It took a long time to find my way

and today ain't just another day

I gotta make a choice, please hear my voice

I got something to say

Repeat Bridge/Chorus

Guitar Solo

Repeat 1st Verse

Repeat Bridge/Chorus
