I am so grateful for Reward Music!
When I first started getting back into music 4 years ago, I was unsure what I was going to do with the music I was writing and recording. I was asking myself, “How do I take all these songs and promote them when I have to work my job to pay my mortgage and bills to take care of my family?”
I knew Spotify wasn’t the answer. There model has ZERO advantage for the artist.
Bandcamp seemed light years better. Their “Bandcamp Friday” lets the artist keep all the money when you make a purchase. However, they only do this promotion once a month.
Then along came Reward Music. I saw Dweezil Zappa talk about it in an interview on YouTube. The platform that he helped bring to light lets the artist keep ALL of the MONEY from purchases ALL of the TIME!
I thought this is amazing but what’s the catch. Got to be a catch! As I’ve come to find after using Reward Music for the last 4 years, there is no catch! If you put in the work on your website, you can create a community of fans that will support your music. When I sell my music or merchandise on my website, the only fee I pay is to Stripe for the credit card processing fee. The fee is minuscule. I ran a Crowdfund for my EP and I got to keep all of the money minus the small Stripe fee to pay for recording costs for my EP. No catch!
So how does Reward Music make money? They charge you by the number of people that sign up on your page to be in your community. The more people that sign up to your community, the more you pay Reward Music. There is a Pricing chart on the Reward Music website. As you can see from the chart, it’s very favorable to new artists just starting out. The artist doesn’t start paying Reward Music any significant amount until the artist has several thousand fans signed up. In turn, those thousands of fans will be buying Subscriptions and merchandise from your site to help pay your monthly Reward Music fee.
Now this isn’t some “Get Rich Fast” deal either. As a musician, there is a ton of work to do. You have to spend a lot of time on your Reward Music site to stay engaged with your fans. You have to write a good bio, upload photos, upload your music or videos, write blogs, send out emails to your community, get merchandise made and uploaded and a bunch of other things to keep your community engaged. It’s a TON of work! So you really need to enjoy working on your music, be committed to your art and KEEP PUSHING FORWARD!!!
So if you’re a musician looking for a website platform that will help you build a community of fans that will in turn support your music, then look no further!
Reward Music has given me a code to share with you! Use code ARLO90 and you’ll get 90 FREE days to start your own website. Please email me at arlotarr@gmail.com any questions you have. I’d love to help.
